The newest name rumored to be added to the already “kick-ass” cast of Sylvester Stallone’s Expendables is none other than his Rocky IV nemesis, Dolph Lundgren. Dolph has been cast out into direct-to-dvd obscurity in the last few years so this is a huge step up for him. At this time he’s not yet signed, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Expendables is set to be directed by Stallone, who also penned the script. The premise is about a group of mercs who invade South American country in order to overthrow a dictator. Stallone has seen a bit of success recently with both Rambo and Rocky sequels fairing well with the critics and at the box office. It would take a pretty big disaster for this not to get a theatrical release. Other cast include, Jet Li, Jason Statham, and Stallone himself. Now if they could only find a way to sign Van Damme. Any ideas?

Thankfully not as the god of thunder himself but it’s equally as strange that Branagh should be attached to direct the movie. Branagh has made some great films. His version of Hamlet is amazing, even if it is difficult to sit through at 242 minutes. The tentative release date is Summer 2010. So who should be cast as Thor? No one is attached as of yet, but I say we bring Dolph Lundgren out of direct-to-video obscurity and give him the part. Come on! Who is with me!?

At least that’s what the tagline for Lundgren’s ridiculous new Drummer Vs. Terrorist movie Command Performance says. To be honest I’ve skipped every Lundgren movie since the direct to video Army of One, which is complete guilty pleasure, but I must say that this looks too silly to pass up. Oh and did I mention that it’s written and directed by Lundgren himself? It’s getting added to my netflix queue as soon as it is available. Enjoy the awesomeness(awfullness?) below.
