Weekend Box Office and Trailers Goodness!!!

Published on August 18th, 2008

Top Three Highest Grossing Films of all time.
1. Titanic $600,788,188
2. The Dark Knight $471,493,000
3. Star Wars $460,998,007

As you can see by the numbers above TDK still has some work to do before it can actually sink the big ship.Below are the box office numbers for the top 3 films of the weekend.

1. Tropic Thunder $26,000,000
2. The Dark Knight $16,790,000
3. Star Wars: The Clone Wars $15,505,000

This if the first weekend that TDK hasn’t been numero uno since opening. I had high hopes that TDK would dethrone Titanic ( mainly because I despise the film) but it doesn’t look like that will happen. I’m making a sad face right now. :(

Below are the links to all the Trailer goodness I promised you. Watch them. Love them.

I actually don’t take total numbers into consideration anymore since the cost of movie tickets keeps going up. Box office records are gonna keep getting smashed every year. Now if you adjusted for inflation Titanic is around 900 million domestically, which would mean TDN would have a lot of catching up to do in terms of ticket sales. To me ticket sales are the only true way to set records, but that won’t happen because its not glamorous enough.
